A1. Switch to one with Zinc Completely removing the anode will result in the water heater corroding very fast.
Q2. Also which is better(safer) to use to pour into the water heater to kill the bacteria, bleach or hydrogen peroxide?
A2. Hydrogen Peroxide is effective and safer.
